[Westlaw Japan K.K.]
New corporate logo commemorating 15-year anniversary
Built on trust—The journey goes on.
15 years and beyond as your business partner.

Westlaw Japan K.K. (Minato Ward, Tokyo, President and Representative Director: Young Sun Bang) has renewed its corporate logo commemorating 15 years since establishment. The previous logo is being updated to the new logo from November 1, 2021.

Westlaw Japan

Westlaw Japan K.K., which has continued to provide legal solutions to the Japanese market, marks its 15th anniversary this year. Thomson Reuters, a well-established legal information provider in the United States (then known as Thomson Corporation) and Shinnippon-Hoki Publishing brought together their state-of-the-art technology and reliable contents to establish a joint venture in 2006, and developed and launched its core product, “Westlaw Japan,” a comprehensive Japanese online legal information service in 2007. “Westlaw Japan” has evolved as a higher-value product by incorporating “Horei Alert Center” which supports companies to carry out their compliance-related affairs.

For 15 years, Westlaw Japan K.K. has continued to provide legal solutions to customers, adding Thomson Reuters legal technology products to its lineup and expanding its scope to support corporate customers, academic institutions, and governmental agencies in addition to law firms. The series of judicial reform that took place in the early 2000s led to an increasing demand among domestic legal professionals and others in the industry for legal research that enables quick and accurate legal information search/analysis. This was when “Westlaw Japan” was launched. Now, we are seeing another wave of legal technology, with progress in the digitization of civil trials which can be called the second judicial reform. We will continue to evolve “Westlaw Japan” in order to meet the needs of the new era and launch products for the next generation.

Built & Trust

In addition to “Westlaw Japan” we provide other global contents as our Westlaw series. Furthermore, we are strengthening ties with both parent companies, working to introduce Thomson Reuters’ legal contents, legal software, and risk solution into the market, and supporting Shinnippon-Hoki Publishing to introduce “LEGAL CONNECTION” and collaborating on contents.
With our customer-first mindset, Westlaw Japan aims to become a strategic partner committed to your success. Building on trust, we will continue to move forward as one team for our business partners.
